Residual heat denotes a prior moment of contact, it's a vestige of relation, energy literally in excess from a climax. Considering the residual heat of seats on a train, glasses from the wash, or the buzz after meeting someone new, a text emerged that interrogated how affect, in all its intensities and fluctuations, lingers and sings within materiality. This text was performed and added upon using a technique of riffing off of the text prerecorded and reciting it live, both with the original and imbuing it with something akin to authenticity.

The subsequent documentation, though limited, was compiled into a video essay that explores the complications of language and image, how the semiotic representational economy of words and names can’t really go there.
